It shouldn't be the wheel that cancels the indicator stalk but a peg or clip attached to the column. I think it was about 1970 that it changed from a peg screwed into the column, which required the c

I was assuming Barrie had fitted the correct switch for his column, which being a 1970 could be the early peg or the later clip. I wouldn't expect a 77/80 switch to even fit a 70 earlier column. Out

When I built my V8, I used the RB column and it's associated turn/wiper switch (integrated style). That was easy enough but hooking it up to the early 70's wiring took a bit more time. As Jim states;

If you are keeping the 70 column you need the 70 switch, and if you have the 70 harness this will be a direct plug-in. You will have to go by the chassis number as the switchgear changed in 1970 for
