Hey guys, I have a question about my '58 Apache. I have a small block 350, and can never keep the engine cool in the summer. When the ambient temperature reaches mid 90s the engine heats up to 220+.

Every car/truck out there traps engine compartment to a degree! (no pun) Hood shape has nuttin to do with your case! Lets check a few things... Electric fan turning correct direction? Thermostat OK?

90f degrees with the ac running is going run warm. try everything else suggested and then drive on. you shouldn't be into trouble until your in the 240f range. make sure your antifreeze solution is

One more thing to keep in mind, antifreeze is a lousy coolant. If you live in a climate where it rarely if ever goes below freezing, you don't need any more than a 20 - 25% ratio for rust protection,
