- I am rebuilding a late '49 Chevy 5-window pu. But..... I want to install a 3-speed floor shift transmission in place of the standard 3-on-the-tree. Who has a tranny available??? Bruce _______________

- I have a '49 Chevy pickup, but I never heard of a "late" model 1949. What's the difference? Also, I always thought that the only difference between 3 on-a-tree and a floor shift was the linkage, not

- There is a three speed on San Diego craigslist for cheep. If you want a floor shift though I have a SM420 that needs a rebuild. You can have it for $50 if you pick it up. I live in oceanside 92057. -

- I have a saginaw 4 speed tranny-like in camaro and other 60's cars/trucks. FYI-late 49 is like a 1950 with tube shocks and press-on cab weatherstrip. early 49 is like 47/8 with knee shocks and screw-
