Hello all, So I think my Datsun is somewhere between a 66 and a 68. Based on the serial number (SPL311-18896) and descriptions that I have read online, I defiantly think the body is a 68, high windsh

This may be the best 1600 engine out there IMHO. If still original you should have a cast iron head (3 bolts in the thermostat tower), and it is pretty bullet-proof as far as warping due to heat etc.

Actually, If you can find one, an H19 crank has the 83 mm stroke with 3 mains, so you can stroke a 3 main to 2L as well. The hard part is finding the crank. You can also stroke it to 1800cc with a G1
