- At the very least, does a place like Radio Shack sell a DC power supply unit that converts ac to dc then puts out the same volts as 2 D's ??? If not too expensive, this would be a bit more reliable

- Bummer!!! I've had a test bench variable power supply from Radio Shack for over 20 yrs, maybe longer. It's fantastic, and wasn't that expensive when I purchased it. I also have a 12VDC at 6 to 10 amp
