- Jack, I would not rely on a predetermined amount - it's much safer and easy to just do the math or have the machinist do it: To get a decent idea, you need 5 key volumes which add the unswept volume,

- See Vizard (3rd ed. pp 222-3) to determine chamber vol for a given CR. Or, more correctly, CR for a given chamber vol. Be sure you are aware of the volume between the dop of the piston and the deck
