I 'upgraded' to later midget brakes using the backing plates, and parking brake actuating rods off a '78 midget. The only problem I ran into was the brake drums rubbed on the new backing plates. I h

Exactly what Bryan said. But I just used a grinder to take a tad off the inside edge of the brake drums. I have converted a few to the later brakes. My 58, two59s, 60, and the 59 Austin A40. At first
