My dipstick tube is loose; when you pull the dipstick, the tube comes out with it. I see a few grooves on the tube - are there supposed to be o-rings on there? Is that what holds the tube in place (a

I have a 948 that has the dipstick without tube as stock. Doesn't seem to have any leaks. I have 1275s also and the tube is simply a press in piece. Hope this helps, Mike C --Original Message-- _____

My 1275 has a dipstick tube that lately wants to cling to the dipstick when I remove it. I can't see anything that wants to retain it in the block. Is something missing?? chuck ______________________

The factory part number is 12G 107 which looks to be the plastic tube. However, later engines have a steel tube for which I'm not able to find a part number though clearly it's different. The dipstic
