I have duct insulation under my drivers side floor mat along with an asbestos plate shimmed down from the floor pan with a couple of nuts to give it an air space. My sneakers still melt but not as fa

Exhaust wraps work well but promote condensation which will rust the things wrapped. Ceramic coating, inside and out, is the way to go, IMHO. Ceramic coating is good for heat and to protect the metal

I race a PI with a 1275. Rookie year I melted the right heel of an expensive pair of driver's shoes. After that I wrapped some exhaust insulation around the the exhaust pipe directly under the pedals
