- Congratulations Frank. Speaking of Jaguars, I have recently seen an old Jag and the only markings on the car are on the back right - Mk IC. I have searched the net and can not find anything like it.

- There was a Mark I Jaguar Saloon beginning in about 1955 which was very popular with the British police all the way into the late 1960s. If I recall correctly it had a 4.2 Liter engine and went like

- Now that you mention it, there was a Mk I, and there was a competition (C) head for the 3.8 and perhaps other engines. They still run successfully in saloon races today.... Bill _____________________

- Those don't look much like a MK ll, though. I suppose the Mk 10 emblem could look like Mk lC, but those cars don't look like Mk ll's either. Maybe it's the owner's initials. BZ _____________________

- Mk IX (and Mk VII, Mk VIII) look like the "Grey Poupon" cars... I should know... I owned a MK IX for about 5 years... Bentley and Rolls of the '60's look similar Dave G. _____________________________

- I'm also looking at buying a used Jag, though XJ8. Consumer Reports generally rates the newer-era Jags at about the same as BMW for repair history. Both BMW and Jaguar are rated better than Mercedes.
