I decided to check the mileage on my '65 midget w /1310cc Crane cam header frequently see 6000-6500 RPM. driving around town like I stole it, I'm getting about 20 MPG.... Should I be lookin for more,

Sounds a bit thirsty, to me.......but then you don't say what Crane cam you are running, or which carburetor(s) you are using. What about spark advance curve? Your cam profile will work much better

To answer some of the questions.... Yes running Su's w/ stock 1098 needles about 1/8" higher in the piston. Raising the needles solved a lean condition. The cam (crane #344-0012) is not a huge one ma

With my Weber I was lucky to get 25 mpg on the highway, 20 around town. I put a pair of SUs on it for the summer trips, Missouri was a 2 day drive, and I was getting 42 mpg. Big difference in mileage
