My understanding is that you will not get an accurate torquing of the head unless they are lubricated. Otherwise, the torque figure is NOT an accurate repesentation of the amount of stretch. David L

Darnit, you are right, Mike. I musta bin votin too much ;-) I could see the use of a threadlocker at the block end of the stud, but I would want to be very selective and avoid the "permanent" ones.

I suggest that youse guys look at the APT web site and read the instructions they have for using or not using thread locker on their studs: Use it or not, but if you do use it make sure that you have
