Hello Larry, I don't think it's changed a bit. all the thinking i've ever heard for stock ribcase and smoothcase is to put in the same oil as in the engine. unless you put synthetic in the engine. go

The late great Eric Jones told me his warranty, which he amazingly extended to race cars, was only good if you used motor oil. He recommended non-detergent 30 or 40 weight, the cheap $1 a quart Wal M

I have always tried to use 30 wt non-detergent in my Spridget or Datsun trannys. The foaming of the non-detergent oil (detergent is to STOP foaming) is good for a non-pressure oiling system like a tr
