Tradional yes, water cooled. We tend to ice it down nicely, sometimes we use other liquids such as milk, fruit juices, rum, etc....the rums, wines etc...tend to give me a head ache, milk is good but

You can replace the valve stem seals without draining coolant and removing the head. (rope trick) But it is probably almost as quick to remove the head and you get a chance to clean up the combustion

Don't know about a Spridget motor but many motors you can replace the valve seals withOUT pulling the head. On my Dino, I broke a spark plug, welded a air fitting on it, put the plug with air fitting

Agree with Guy... Pulling the head is not that difficult or time consuming. Probably wouldn't hurt to replace the head gasket and intake/exhaust gaskets too. Then you can take the head to good machin
