Hello all, I just finished reading an article about exhaust wrap which basically said it would severely shorten the life of the header. In other words, "don't use it". Any thoughts out there? How abou

Ceramic coating is the way to go, inside and out. Wraps trap moisture that will corrode your headers to pieces. A good ceramic coating job will look good and improve header life tremendously. Cheers,

I have heard that the wraps eat the pipes too. I put a sheet of asbestos like stuff on the floor of my Sprite to beat the heat sort of like the big Healeys have. I used 1/4" Hardyboard (ceramic tile

I had wrapped a mild steel header on a 1500 Midget and the 4-1 collector rusted into a useless pile of .... in a year. I have wrapped my current header, but only for the first few inches to keep the

For what it's worth: One header coater told me that they don't coat the inside because of the remote chance that the coating may separate from the header. I 'think' he said that internal adhesion is

Ok, but if you don't coat the inside aren't you opening yourself up to corrosion? The ceramic will protect the outside and form a heat barrier. Moisture will condense on the inside after the motor is

That one looks nice. How much of a difference did you notice in under hood temps? I can see how it would be hard to get good coverage on the inside, especially with a sprayed on product. So, if you

Your custom turbo manifold probably isn't the same cheap, thin, mild steel that most headers are made from. Turbos get red hot during operation. I don't even think ceramic will hold up on hot turbos.
