Treat the 1316 casting just the same as the 12G940. You can block of the air holes with 1/8 27 NPT allen plugs. Your machinist can tell you if the guides are worn, he should have specs for how much

Missed the post that this is a response to, but.... The tap that I used to chase the threads on the air holes on my 12G1316 head is clearly marked 1/8-27 NPT. Much bigger in diameter than 1/8". Hal -

cheers derf, I dont believe the guides are specific for leded/unleaded fuel, but i believe guide material and the valve material need to be compatible or wear can be accelerated. Also, valve stem sea

They were there when i pulled it apart, and I remember them being in my 1098 bottom end too. Thumbnail sized and shaped, supposed to be bent over the bolt head after torquing the bolt. I bought 2 typ
