John, I've no idea of the "correct" way to do it. What I did was trim the rubber hose, until it extended only slightly above the end of the tank neck when slid all the way down. Don't recall offhand

Hi John - I shortened the rubber hose so that I could slide it up the filler extension to clear the placement of the tank. After the tank was in place, I then slid the rubber hose down and fastened t
