- Jim, if I remember correctly, the air deflector is only attached by the bumper upright supports that go through the grill. These go through a hole in the deflector and are bolted to the inner fender.

- Although that is the way mine is installed, I have an early 3A that the factory did not equip with the deflector (meaning I did the original installation myself). But somewhere, I've seen a diagram

- Mine has sheet metal screws into the shelf from the factory, too, but I thought there were six screws. I thought all widemouths had the deflectors. But of course, I thought they all had fuel shut-of
