Whack them with a rubber hammer ... then clean the rust off and coat with anti-sieze (lightly) when you put them back on ... don't forget to torque them to specs ... worked for me... -- Bill Pugh 195

An impact wrench works slick. If that's not an option, and the brakes work, I'd suggest having someone hold the brake pedal down (and arrange your breaker bar so you are pushing towards the floor).

Have a helper sit in the car and step on the brakes when you are trying to undo the 4 nuts. If that dosen't work, get a BF pipe wrench and put it on the ww extension to keep it from turning. David B.

I usually cut a piece of 2 x 4 to fit between the floor and the adaptor nut, with the nut being at around 9:00. This leaves another nut on top that I can wrench toward the 2 x 4. As each nut loosens,

Thanks for all the suggestions. I should have mentioned that the brakes last worked in the 70's when it went into the barn. I am not a fan of air wrenches and I don't have a compressor anyway (yet),
