I've had the mild steel original exhaust forever on my 76 TR6. I like the original appearance of the stock muffler with the offset twin pipes but I prefer a deeper throatier sound such as the Monza o

Greg, I also had the mild steel stock muffler on my 76 TR6. During my restoration I put on the Stainless steel stock system from TRF. It may be my imagination, but the SS seems be a bit louder and de

Louder? Yes. Deeper? No. It has what I consider an annoying resonance at about 2500 RPM that is anything but pleasant. I'd rate the Falcon TR6 SS exhaust system one lug wrench whereas I would rate th

So, it sounds like perhaps the Falcon SS TR6 exhaust is probably not the best choice for a deeper, throatier sound. I actually like the Monza exhaust sound that I've heard (although it was years ago)

Just a thought, have you considered going to a local independant muffler shop and asking about a custom system ? It might be cheaper than you think (mine cost less than the parts for a stock system)

Quite frankly, I think the problem is the muffler skin is too thin and resonates. With the mild steel mufflers the steel is thicker because it would rust out too quickly if the same thickness steel w

I'll chime in with pretty much the same opinion regarding the TR6 and TR8 Falcon systems. The TR8 is great - barks when you get on it, wuffles nicely when you don't. The TR6 is fine too - mine doesn

Interesting thought. Along those lines, I had actually even wondered if I could get a good local exhaust fabricator to build a custom dual pipe system with a couple of small inline mufflers tucked up

The Monza was on my TR6 when I bought it and I loved the sound for around town driving and hated it on the highway. At highway speed it just droned on and on and on and drove me nuts. One cool thing

Maybe the preferred combo is the mild steel muffler and the stainless pipes. Dave that's exactly what I plan to do - as fate would have it, I recently re-discovered a NOS mild steel muffler that I've

I'm going to chime in and agree with those recommending a custom shop. As some of you may recall that's what I did on my TR6 when the Monza system I had finally died. The shop did a lot of custom wor
