With the very reduced sulphur in the fuel, the new diesels are accepted in something like 47 states with all states accepting them by the end of the year. Comsumer reports recently did a good test be

as a guide to road going diesel sin Europe, I have a BMW 535d Twin turbos, 280 BHP, can't recall the torque figure but its very close to the M5. 0-60 in 6.5 seconds and 35-40 miles to the gallon !!!
