If you want a stock looking ignition just use the Pertronix or similar unit in the distributor. You can cover the wires out of the distributor with shrink tube for that 1 wire appearance. Stock coil

The Jaeger tach is an inductive instrument; that's what the little loop on the back is... a one turn coil. If you have multiple pulses you can get erratic behavior at low rpm's. I can't say from pers
