My Tiger has a 302 ci pushing 300 HP my problem is overheating in traffic. It runs at 180 to 190 on the highway but in traffic it overheats to as much as 250. The former owner had installed a Dimple

First off, make sure that you have a thermostat in there, and (if you have stock gauges) that your "instrument voltage stabilizer" is working properly and putting out a steady 10 volts. It's the litt

First of all, the panel voltage regulator should not be putting out a steady 10V. Its output should be switching between zero and battery voltage several times a second, averaging out to 10V over tim

To determine the actual temperature, and thus whether the guage or stabililer is a problem, you can use a handheld temperature guage and test the temp at the thermostat and radiator. These work with

Check to make sure that the timing is correct. A retarded spark will make an engine overheat more than advanced even though this seems against logic. Usually you can change where the pulley sits on a

I'll second that advice! I bought one from Harbor Freight last year on sale for about 40 bucks. It lives on the top shelf of my tool box, lol... I have measured everything, lol.. ____________________

Get the biggest, highest flow fan you can find. When I did mine five or six years ago I used a 16" Hayden Slim line high power ($150 Pep Boys) and it cools it down very well. I have forgotten the CF

Hi all, Stu is right, I oversimplified the description of what the voltage regulator does. Most often, when the gauge voltage regulator fails and the gauges still appear to work, the gauges end up re

I ran the 302 with 300+ hp and had no problems cooling. Just follow the tips on Tigers United, use a good water pump. I did not need a auxiliary fan and removed it. It restricts air when not in use.

I think you can just reverse the leads and the fan will run the other way, some of the fans are designed to run either way. Jerry Christopherson --Original Message-- From: tigers-bounces+jcmc2006=su

That will work as a first approximation. However, for optimum airflow the fan should have the convex sides of the blades facing into the direction of flow (i.e, forward). Some fans have reversible bl
