Owain, I don't have an answer to your question as I installed my gaiters with the rack removed. However, (and I don't want to add to the difficulty) but I found the zip ties that are often provided

You didn't say if you removed the radiator. When I replaced them on my steering rack, the radiator had to come out. No way could I replace them with the radiator bolted in. Jeff _____________________

No the radiator (original size) is still in. Does't look like this is going to be as easy as I hoped. Oh well... Its time I flushed the coolant anyhow. _______________________________________________
