Before hitting it with a wire brush I would suggest try hitting it with a hammer. We used to remove floor tiles in this way...cement and all would just break into pieces. M In a message dated 3/30/20

I haven't done it myself but an acquaintance who was building a roadrace car used this trick to get the sound deadener out of his car. I was there while he was doing part of it and I learned to stay
