has anyone tried putting a plastic bottle with the air squeezed out on the end of the overflow tube from the header tank? if the hose is sealed into the bottle will it suck water back into the header

I put an Alpine boittle with basket under the header tank. Ran a hose to the header tank overflow tube and simply repalced the cap with a coolant recovery cap. Worked great. You could watch hot water

There was a question if the Rootes bottle could stand the heat. Who wants a melted tank and possibly plastic in the radiator. I've not had a problem One fellow owner made a new stainless washer tank.
