The car in question is a 1970 MGB. Various people on the list agreed that Mac or Snap-on sockets would work, some suggested S&K and others suggested turning the craftsman socket at a machine shop. Ot

There are, indeed, SK sockets that don't fit. But they make different versions, at least in the 1 5/16th size, that's for certain. Jay Donoghue << > ... lists the diameter of the socket as 1.88 inche

I have found two additional references which list SK part number 40142 as being 1.88 inches in diameter. Have the specs changed? The Craftsman 1 5/16 socket has gotten thicker recently, making it use
