One or some of the big 3 used water paint on their cars a while back. And those are the ones missing whole sheets of paint on the hoods, roofs, and trunks. Maybe they improved the stuff. Nah. -- Fran

I was given to understand that it was water-based primer on those vehicles. You notice that the bond to the metal is fine,it is just the top-coat that refused to bond to the primer. I believe it has
