I recently picked up a 51 gmc 1/2 ton in kit form. The motor (also in kit form) is a 228. My question: Is the 228 worth rebuilding or should I look for a 270? My thoughts are to use this truck for a

A 270 is a bolt-in replacement for a 228 and rebuild costs are about the same. If you can pick up a 270 core at reasonable cost, there's no substitute for cubic inches. Check Patrick's (520) 836-111
