hi again i got a 305 HO engiine in my 84 z28 i needed parts for it and went to gm and they told me the 305 ho is a 307 so thats the parts i had to replace it with i am not a engine expert or anything

I think a 383 is typically a 350 block with a 3.75" (400 small block) crankshaft stroke which yields 383 cubic inches. Good for torque, but not exceptionally high rpm. interesting, and/or under intak

Also, I understand the bottom edges of the cylinders have to be machined so the rods don't hit them. I've also been told that the angle of the rods can be a problem. But GM has a crate 383 hi-torque
