The missing part is a polarity reversing switch. They only were on the later 41 and early 42 (I think). They did exactly what you stated however they are not needed. What the concept was that you cou

That makes me wonder something; do you want the rotor pointing to the number 1 plug wire cap at tdc, or at whatever the timing should be, like 4 degrees btdc? Or is tdc close enough to get it running
