Has anyone put the battery on the firewall on a AD? I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has done this and any tips they might have such as what tray you used, re-enforcing of the firewall etc.

I've got one on a crappy plastic tray, no firewall reinforcements, no problems, though you have to be careful about the hood. oletrucks is devoted to Chevy and GM trucks built between 1941 and 1959

The mounting points on the '58 (55-2 through 59) are on the same plane. It should work just fine on your smooth fire wall. I would however recommend re-enforcing the firewall with some shallow chann
