We Have the best luck with Rust-XO or Rustoleum for rusty metal reduced 30 to 50 % with Xelene. Use both primer and Black. Wire brush entire frame , wire brush on 4 1/2 grinder works well and small

I believe any chemical should be used with proper safety measures as described in the MSDS sheets, MEK and Naphtha has a very low threshold compared to some of the ingredients in modern paints. I too
