I'm running my exhaust right now. the drivers side is running right below the shift shaft on the 700R4 tans, about 1 1/2 inch below. my question is; where does the shift linkage go? does it hang down

What kind of shifter are you using? If you use a floor shifter like Lokar, then the lever goes up, no problem. I do not know about a column shifter Mike 1950 3100 oletrucks is devoted to Chevy and GM
