You really do want to get the pertronix II I had the other one burn up well it went intermittent working and not working after the ignition switch stuck on. The II has a safety for this exact problem

Bill, what's the brand of your HEI? It's 89 bucks for a Mallory Unilite Ignition Module (for a 327). Just curious... JP oletrucks is devoted to Chevy and GM trucks built between 1941 and 1959
