I think I found a '61 261 head for my Chevy short block 261, but the guy says to check the casting number that I need for the 261 head. Are the casting numbers on the cylinder head the same as the ca

I will look at home tonight for the 261 head casting number, I think I have it somewhere. A 261 head may be a difficult item to find. But a 235 head will work if steam holes are drilled to match tho

Most prefer to use a 235 head as the compression is lower on the 261's heads. Casting #'s for a 261 head are different than the block #'s. Here are some 261 head #'s I have: 3836850 3708570 3703570 3

I should of mentioned the 3835913 # is listed as 235 or 261. Grant oletrucks is devoted to Chevy and GM trucks built between 1941 and 1959
