I am trying to decode the VIN on a Chevy truck that is titled as a 1950.Using VIN decoders it comes back as a 1952. One says it was made in Flint Mich, but another says Baltimore. The VIN is : 14KPA1

I agree with Gary Perry. That number is an engine serial number. Many states used this on their titles instead of the truck serial number on the door jamb plate. Let us know what you find on that pl

Hey Alan, Your number is the engine serial number, many States used that number to register the truck. 0566455 = the unit number F = Flint Engine Assembly Plant ( T = Tonawanda Plant) 54 = year X = 2
