Blaine, That has worked for me several times. But inner tubes are getting hard to come by! Sonny 55 2nd oletrucks is devoted to Chevy and GM trucks built between 1941 and 1959

Yes, both components bolt to the firewall independently. The gaskets are just wide, big rubber bands that span the 1/4" or so gap between components. There are no bands or anything else to hold it to
