I don't know about your area , but mine (n.w. Ill) we have a brake shop that will reline your old shoes-- if drums were turned you can get oversized linings for your old shoes--would check your area

The spindles use a different size bottom bolts to hold the backing plate and steering knuckle. I've done the swap on my 50 but used later spindles rather than drill out early spindles. One other cons
