Steve, I've been using Marvel Mystery Oil, just a few drops. My Dad said he always used 30wt at oil change intervals. Mike oletrucks is devoted to Chevy and GM trucks built between 1941 and 1959

My '50 GMC manual says to use the same oil as the crankcase. typically 30w. I imagine generator bearings are pretty much the same from year to year. John '49 Chevy 3800 Panel '52 GMC 640 Firetruck -
