- You have to assume that when the 235 was installed they used the 216 bell housing because that is the only way I know of doing it. Having said that you need the standard 1947-53 rear motor mounts tha

- I put a '55 235 in my '49 Chevy PU by just getting a new 216 front motor mount from Chevy Duty (complete rubber and steel parts) and drilling two holes in the front plate below the harmonic balancer
