- I just got a NAPA catalog the other day and they have two different models - laser is $99 and non laser is $77. Considerably cheaper than $700 and may not be as accurate but for what you'll be doing

- One of the thermometers that I use is a pistol type but it is infrared.. Laser thermometers are expensive. Mine is by Raytek and costs about $150 but the price is coming down... You can get them thru
