I have a '53 GMC 1/2 ton. According to my '47-'54 Maintanence Manual it should be a 228CI. 1/2 ton is a series 100, I think a 3/4 ton is series 150 or 200 but I'm not sure. GMC used a 248CI starting

The stamped engine serial # by the distributor should indicate the size in the first three digits. 228xxx.... Grant 50 3100 oletrucks is devoted to Chevy and GM trucks built between 1941 and 1959
