You definitely still have a problem. As to re-coring your radiator; check with your friendly radiator shop. They can tell if your old parts are still usable. And you will probably have the option as

You can buy new rads for $299 last I looked from vendors. My shop wanted $200 or $250 to recore my old tanks depending on what problems he might run into. Might as well have a new one for that price!
