well my crate motor arrived from GM last week. I bit the bullet and bought GM's Ram Air 350 http://www.goautocenter.com/350%20ram%20jet.htm installed it to make sure everything would match the old 35

I can't say for sure without seeing the truck, but I would opt for changing the motor mounts, or even making a custom oil pan, before I would even think about hacking the fire wall. The motor mounts,

Is it possible to remove the distributor and reinstall it with a different orientation? As long as you end up with the rotor pointed at the #1 wire when it's supposed to be, and the reluctor timing
