- I`m sure at some point this has been covered,But what rear end will fit under my 41 and still have the 6 lugs? Iv`e been told some of the early to late 60`s chevy trucks may have one that will work?

- I am putting a 19551st 1/2ton rear end in my 1940. The rear end will fit on top of the springs and is only 1 inch wider on each side. It is practically a bolt in. It has 6 lugs and open drive line. O

- When I bought my '55 1st it had a rear end I was told came from a Jeep Wagoneer. It was six lug and fit my AD truck just fine. It was a Dana 44 I think, but finding one the right width and lug patter

- Thanks steve! I might consider keeping the diff. I have now if a replacment ring and pinion are avaliable. 4:56 is a might low even with the 700r and overdrive. Pat 67 Nova SS 41 Art Deco chevy truck

- Actually, Pat, I think the 700 R4 has an O/D ratio of abt .73. That would give you an overall ratio of abt 3.3. Not too bad. BK replacment and Chevy. oletrucks is devoted to Chevy and GM trucks built
