How do you feel about the aftermarket runningboards? Are they worth the money? Are they as heavy (quality) as the originals? Maybe I should just buy new aftermarket runningboards? Anyone? Alan Horva

I think that your brackets are riveted to the frame, if so it will be a chore to remove them. Cut the rivet heads with a grinder and drive them out with a punch. They can be replaced with bolts and

I don't plan on removing the brackets from the frame ... just a close inspection of them -- my runningboards seem to have a bit too much "give" (movement) on the front end when I stand on them. Look

There's no bondo on my runningboards, so no need to worry about that. I'll look into doing what you did, treating the whole underside with a phosphoric acid solution (From Lowes) to stabilize any ru
