i cant say for sure about a '50 3100, but on my '57 3200, the shock mounts go on the rear u-bolt, and they are lower than the u-bolt, so the shock is behind and lower than the rear end. hope this may

I finally got out to my back lot to look at rear shocks, 1950-54 half tons. I looked at 16 trucks. All lower brackets were mounted on the front U bolt. 9 were pointing up and 7 pointing down. None o
