I was given a tachometer, and would like to hook it up in my 3600. Need a little help with the wiring, however. I have 4 wires, and know that one is the light, one is the ground and I assume one goes

Thanks for the tips on hooking up the tachometer. Seems to be working somewhat, but the rpms don't go very high, even when I rev the engine. Not much over 1000. Any suggestions, or should I just toss

Check the back of the tach unit (if it's inside a 'cup', loosen the nut on the mounting bracket and slide the guts out the front). Most aftermarket tachs are selectable between 4, 6, and 8 cylinder

The one wire should go to the dist., not the coil. You want to measure RPM's, not sparks per minute. Just my one cents worth, (all I could afford). Pat Hollister 58 step in IA. oletrucks is devoted t

Assuming it is a fairly modern one piece tach the wires connect to: 1. Switched +12V 2. Dash lights 3. Ground 4. Wire that connects points to coil. If it is a Sun Supertach (and if my memory is righ
