I'm guessing that you pulled the hoses of the heater core ends instead of cutting the hose with a razor blade and then removing them? The core is probably still good and here's what you need to buy

I had to have my heater core restored on my 57 Chevrolet Belair. I was in the same boat you were but through advice I took it to a radiator shop and they made it as good as new since it is nothing m
